About Chand Palace

For the most authentic Indian cuisine you’ll taste this side of the Indian Ocean, visit Chand Palace Piscataway. Acclaimed by the food critics and by thousands of patrons, our all-vegetarian menu features delicious North and South India specialties.

Owned and operated by the Bajaj family, Chand Palace Piscataway is known for its award-wining cuisine and impeccable service. One of the only upscale Indian Vegetarian restaurants in New Jersey, Chand Palace Piscataway attracts a loyal following of discerning clientele. The cornerstone of our cuisine is traditional North and South Indian recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation and prepared and presented in such a tasteful way that each dish is utterly remarkable. Our distinguished chefs have also developed more modern recipes creating mouth-watering Indo-Chinese fusion dishes as well as a selection of Mexican fare. Tandoori dishes and breads are cooked on the premises in our clay oven.

Chand Palace Piscataway is best known for its daily lunch and dinner buffet, which features a revolving selection of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. The buffet menu changes daily so diners are always treated to new surprises with each visit. Chand Palace Piscataway also offers party trays and packages perfect for corporate lunches, picnics, parties or at-home events.

Our décor is equally pleasing with a warm and inviting atmosphere accented with authentic Indian art. A working fireplace in our Piscataway location adds to the relaxing environment of the restaurant.

Chand Palace’s professional staff is both courteous and informed on all dishes of the Palace to help you make a truly inspired selection of cuisine. The Chef and Staff can also tailor dishes to your unique dietary needs such as an all Jain or Vegan meal.

Be prepared for a wonderful experience…We work hard so you don't have to!

About the Bajaj Family (Mr. Balwinder Bajaj and the Bajaj Family)

Chand Palace Piscatawayis owned and operated by the Bajaj Family. At the head of this clan sits Mr. Balwinder Bajaj, the man whose hard work and vision has made Chand Palace what it is today: one of the premier Indian restaurants in New Jersey. Chand Palace Piscataway is managed by Mr. Bajaj’s brother-in-law, Sunny, who also serves as Head Chef.

Mr. Bajaj knew from a very young age that his passion lay in the hospitality industry, specifically restaurants. “I always knew I would do this,” he says, “I love this business!”

He arrived in the United States in 1980 with little more than a suitcase. Soon he found a job working in a restaurant, and with single-minded determination, the young Mr. Bajaj saved uphis earnings to eventually buy his own place. During this time, he was also gathering and developing various recipes in hopes of fulfilling his dream. In a few years, Mr. Bajaj opened up the very first Chand Palacein 1987in Morristown, NJ to rave reviews. He eventually sold this facility and opened the first all-Indian banquet hall in Parsippany, NJ in1996, under the Chand Palace banner. With his discerning passion for food, his keen business acumen, and the experience of his family members, in 2007, Mr. Bajaj opened the second sister-location of Chand Palace in Piscataway.
